The social cost of austerity in Greece

This bubble chart shows 3 dimensions for several countries in the European Union : the wealth of individuals (yearly median income), the proportion of the very poor in the population (severely deprived people), and the proportion of people who don’t have a job (unemployment rate). One can see the evolution of these indicators between 2010 and 2013 by clicking on the years at the top.

Individual countries can be highlighted by clicking on them to make it easier to follow during the animation.
